Momma to Skittles the Tabby Cat-who is much more like a dog than a cat-and Ziggy the Corgi-who is much more like a Koala than a dog LOL:D (RIP Skittles 5/8/12)
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Ziggy is a red and white Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Full name: Zigward "Ziggy" Marley Corginpie "Corgi" Twinkie Jiggles Winchester Blevins ;)
Born 08/01/07
Gotcha date 02/08/12
He means the whole world to me <3
Fact: Ziggy came to me three months, to the hour, before my Skittles made his way over rainbow bridge. I know I couldn't have gotten through Skiski passing without him... Makes me think that fate isn't so farfetched <3
Thanks. His dad was was black also but not fluffy. Mom was red and not fluffy. I think in the litter of 10 pups, just 2 were fluffy. I love my fluffy, but the coat collects so much dirt. We live in the country and after a walk my "normal" corgi is perfect and he is a mess. Do you have a fluff?
cute name:)there was a corgi in the rescue in tacoma,wa.his name was twix.
by the way,i have been training Angie offleash.she would take of running whenever she was outside and she got out the other day so i said you know what whatever she does she has to be taught:)so i was teaching her today and she did really well.we don't have a fenced yard so i have to teach her just in case she gets out.she chewed through her leash and collar so now she has new ones.We are leaving to Arizona in April.she gets spayed March 12th.how have you been?
Angie has been great. She gets to have her cone off soon. She is now 10 months old, time really flies!i saw the picture of ziggys corgi butt.i hope to get a picture of Angies up soon:)
Did Ziggy (if you are still calling him that) enjoy the snow? Noodles LOVES the snow and so we chased each other down at the park on Wednesday and Thursday. He was happy to see it still covering the backyard this morning and opted to start eating it. Noodles favorite thing to do in the snow is to catch snowballs and fling snow on his back.
we just got our corgi in november. and she is the love of our lifes!!! she is very energetic considering she is a puppy. lol. but she is very social she loves people and other dogs. im sure if you give hime time he will become a social bug too. but like you said you havent had him long and you dont know his past.
i am definatly enjoying this website and im glad to know that there are open people out there for help. we arent that far from you we are in eugene. we try and get to the coast auite a bit since zoey loves the sand. well take care of that corgi and you will fall more and more in love with him everyday. keep in touch!!
Angie's going to have lots of fun!She must enjoy my couch because she comes in the house after a walk and jumps on the couch.Have you ever thought about doing agility with Ziggy.it might drop those corgi lbs.LOL
Oh I totally agree where you are coming from with telling ppl the truth. Funny story my husband went to the store tonight and this big truck was parked next to him when He got there and still was when He left and He looked in the windows of the truck and thsnow goes I thought I recognized those ears, and she had a Corgi as well and was waiting for him to come back, it was a red and white just like ours same age too. I swear Corgi owners are all the same were crazy over them. Lol. Anyways yes zoey is full of energy. She is a hoot. She keeps us on our toes and is always runny around. I need to update our profile a bit more with more pics. We have been trying g to find a Corgi group here In Eugene to set up play dates. But it has been rather difficult doing so. Well I hope your Corgi becomes more social. Or He could just be a laid back kind of guy!!
Yes. I am SUPER excited!! It feels like time is standing still. I'm a true believer that the universe sends you the dog that you are meant to have. Ziggy is exactly where he is meant to be...with you!
Hello to both of ya' all! Isn't it amazing how Corgis tend to bring the best out of people. I will be uploading some pictures of my lil' stinker in the future. Right now he's out light a light; on his back, of course! Take care and stay safe! PEACE! John (Seadog86) and Travis (Taiwanese Terror)!
i have been busy for the last month so i have not been online for a while.how have you been?Angie is ready for vacation!I bought her a hoodie so i will have pics up soon hopefully.
We're doing great! Thank you for asking! :] He's the most perfect puppy ever! I guess it helps that he's 9 months instead of 9 weeks. Lol. But I was expecting more difficulties with him, and yet he hasn't been difficult at all! I posted up a blog entry with all the details if you care to read. Haha. And I added a couple pictures too. It's hard to get non-blurry pictures of him unless he's sleeping. But I'll keep trying!
In my profile I mentioned how my buddy's Corgi (Austin) was in my care and that's how I became associated with them. What's funny is when I brought his dog to the vet, one of the employees saw him and of course, the pooch was in seventh heaven, showing off. She linked me to the local Corgi Club and it was through the local Corgi Club that I adopted Travis. You're right about how these Corgis can do wonders; my buddy's dog is actually a registered emotional support animal!
Oh Lexi appreciates all compliments! I have never met a fluffy before in my life before Lexi, I thought when I went to the breeder I was going to get a red and white boy. I ended up picking out this little monster :) I'm excited to see what her coloring looks like as she grows.
Hey, thanks for tip! Kobe is roughly 45 lbs. He picked up the weight when I was doing a few overload semesters in college. During this period, my parents watched him regularly and fed him a little more generously than I liked. I wasn't able to give the attention he deserved while I was busy. But now he is by my side all summer and I'll have more time to spend with him (no more overload semesters thank god), so I'm going to make an effort to help him lose some pounds.
I checked out the picture you mentioned of Ziggy when he was overweight. Wow, that is one big corgi! By juxtaposing the photos of Ziggy, I can see magnificent difference before and after. That is great. I'm looking forward to hearing some of your sound advice as I try to get Kobe back to being healthy and fit again!
Basically, an overload semester is when you schedule excess credit hours for a semester. The requirements can vary for institutions, for instance, my university claims greater than 19 credit hours is an overload schedule. I overloaded because, at the time, I attempted to finish two degrees as quickly as possible, but after changing majors a few times that idea was sort of thrown off track by my senior year.
Personally, I really enjoy college and neither do I find it difficult. The courses, depending on your interest, can be really enjoyable to learn. I think the only difficulty I really encounter is dealing with time management and scheduling. For me, the more time I have to study, the less difficult concepts are to learn as I progress through college. I also enjoy the environment and the feel of academia. Oddly, I suppose I find some peculiar comfort spending days in the library.
Let's see, Actuarial Science falls under the College of Mathematics and Statistics at my university. The degree focuses on utilizing mathematics and statistics to ascertain risk and uncertainty, primarily in insurance and finance. The career track for this degree is for people who aspire of becoming an Actuary. Basically, we are the brains behind financial security systems. Furthermore, this so happens to be one of the most rigorous undergrad degree and career tracks out there. Work towards becoming an Actuary requires a series of test before becoming fully accepted in the field (years of testing can average 4-6 years). So I have a lot more fun left to go!
Thank you for the food tip for Kobe. I will definitely look into it!
Yes, as a new mom for Chuckie I get nervous about everything that he does so, I'm really looking forward to all the experienced corgi owners on this site and their experience!
thanks for commenting on Brian and Karly! They are adorable (no bias obviously!) but man that is really their saving grace when they make me mad! Ziggy is super cute too! Is he a rescue? I looked into rescue but it didn't really work out for me sadly. I hear you on having to save up for the 2nd corg; it seems to me is that i work full time to pay for my corgis and my car (oh, and student loans)!
Kymii, I'm so glad your enjoying my photos and my Corgi. As I wrote earlier, I am so thrilled that you have a Corgi of your very own, and I'm sure you'll add another when you're ready for a 2nd. Two is a lot more than double one. I have Doug and Gromit to thank for Ricky. He is my very first tri. I've had corgis my whole life but all were red & whites. If you have time you can go to Corgis Remembered Group where I posted photos of my beloved Corgis that are in Corgi heaven. Back then there were no digital photos. I have to make time to scan better photos of all my Corgis. The ones I've posted are just random photos that I found lying around. Check out some of my awful videos. I am awful at photos and videos but it gives a real sense of what 2 corgis are like. 2 stubborn, bossy, smart generals...hahaha. It's actually a lot of fun. Ricky was very very sick this weekend. Awaiting test results on Thur. Xray and temp all normal. Jack & I have been worried sick.
Thank you so much! Before we got Indy, we did a lot of Corgi research and this website came up often. So far, I am really enjoying the community feel. I'm so glad we have other Corgi owners to consult. Ziggy is a cutie too!
I did my first raffle for a gift certificate and that was Augusts prize. The winner was snickmom. Now I am doing Septembers raffle prize for 8 cans of wet dog food:) I want to do prizes monthly
Took Le-Le a long time to get used to the camera. Yes she was featured in CL a few years ago. Had to get her shot when the editors were out of the house. Too shy to come out when they were around. She is a lot less shy now a days.
Thank you the information on Fergie. Although she is very cute we are looking for a male playmate for our 4yr old female Kailey Mae.
Our Skipper Lou was 12 when he passed away (tears) and Kailey Mae is very lonesome so, she will be a big part of our decision on her new playmate too :)
I've only seen a corgi once in real life, and ever since then I wanted one so badly! Now I'm gonna get my first dog AND it's a corgi, it's literally like a dream come true :) I think I'd explode to when I see my puppy for the first time and as time goes by hahaha
You should definitely get a pup from poso creek too!!! Thanks for telling me about Brody, Nicola + Scott's dog. I will definitely check them out :D
