I was just looking at a picture of my new corgi puppy (I pick him up in just over a week!) and I see the same little toupe on him. I just had to laugh. He almost looks like Eddie Munster when I look at him straight on. Our pupplies look very much alike except mine ha s a thin white blaze. Sounds like your Emme Lu is doing well. So much fun!

Be sure to keep only that one potty pad by the door that you take outside with. Eventually Emme Lu will get there just takes lots of patience and love.

At least you know she has a large bladder! LOL Not messing in her crate and sleeping through the night (most nights) is great for a 2 month old pup.

I agree with not putting food/water in her crate. She should be offered food 3-4 times a day, and water everytime she's out of the crate. You can cut back to feeding twice a day when she's 4 months.

I thought Bryan's reply on your forum post was very good too. I did not give Charlie a time limit to potty (which is what Bryan suggests), and he tends to take a lot of time (10-15 minutes sometimes). Good thing I'm not in a hurry. I just sit in the porch swing a watch until he goes. LOL

Certainly not a flaw " a lovely charactor trait". Her face just makes me smile!

Don't worry...you'll do great. How old is Emma? Puppies can usually hold their bladder about 1 hour for every month old. Is she able to hold it while she's crated during the day while you work? How's she doing at night (waking you up to go potty)? When you're home, you just want to make sure she has play time with lots of toys, take her out a lot to see if she'll potty, make sure she's eating and drinking water, and let her nap on your lap for a bit to bond with you.

She can be in her crate quite a bit of the time while she's very young since puppies sleep so much anyway, and she can be out more over time as she learns where to potty, play, eat, etc. A lot of people tie a leash to their belt loop while potty training. That way you can be washing dishes (or whatever) and feel her tug if she's needing to go out. That's another way to keep her out of her crate, but be able to keep up the potty training.

She'll learn! You can do it. :)

Your puppy is so cute. Her picture makes it look like she has a little black toupee on. So so cute! You are going to have so much fun with this little girl. Lots of enegy. Keep her busy. Keep us posted on her progress.

Potty training is always fun (not). Are you home with her during the day? It makes a difference. When you get a chance, check out the forum on potty training. And if you have questions, drop me an email at cindi_g@comcast.net

Yep, they do tend to run 100 mph and then crash. Then they wake up at full speed and crash again. LOL! As long as your new puppy isn't lethargic, you're fine.
