Hey everyone, just wanted some advice.
Wyatt has had a bit of a relapse in his potty training. He is almost 11 months and I never crate trained him, but he did well with going potty outside.…
n, every half hour until he went. Take them after they play, nap, or get out from their kennel. Make sure you treat them as soon as they potty and tell them Good Potty! Consistency and repetition really make a difference.…
ents there.
He just now thought it was okay to take a HUGE poopy on the carpet :( did not even HINT to me he had to potty :(
I will get him a bigger one tomorrow. Thanks everybody :)…
oh my. i had just the reverse tonight. rafa, who was potty trained early--my one training victory, peed on our sofa tonight. we have a doggy door, he knows the routine. what he was thinking?!?
radually decrease the size of the potty pad by folding or cutting it until she is peeing on the ground. This can take several months to accomplish. Restrict her activity until she is fully potty trained and if you take her outside and she doesn't go potty, put her in a crate or lock her in the kitchen, etc and then take her out again 10 minutes later. Make sure to use a phrase like "go potty" as she is going so she eventually learn what that command means. When you take her out keep her on a leash until she goes potty and once she does give her lots and lots of praise. Good luck…
Repeat in 15 min. eventually being outside won't be so fun and he will be less distracted and will potty for you, right after he is done give him TONS of praise. Also, you can wait a bit to teach him to go outside, and teach him a potty command now. Frank's is "go potty" for pee and "poop" for poop. He knows the difference and will go on cue, if he doesn't have to poop he will actually just squat like he is going. Its really funny. But use the same command everytime he goes and he will eventually learn the command and will go wherever you tell him to. He's only 8 weeks old, you have a good 2 or 3 months ahead of you before he is moderately potty trained, and possibly another 6 or 8 months before he is almost totally trained. One thing to keep in mind as a simple rule of thumb, they can hold it for as many hours as they are months old (i.e. a 2 month old puppy should be able to hold it 2 hours, 3 month for 3 hours, etc). It just helps you to remember to take hiim out frequently and slowly increase the amount of time during the day that he can hold it.…
every hour or so to play for 30 min or so but i put him outside so he goes to the bathroom but he never does. Then i let him back in and play with him with his rope or bone for about 20-30 min then i let him back out then when i bring him back in he pees on the floor, so i yell no and grab him and set him back out on the deck and he just stares at me then plays with a leaf, so i jsut bring him back in and put him in his cage and clean up the mess. i cant really put him in the kitchen or anything because i live in an apartment and the kitchen is small and there is quite a bit of traffic there. any tips on how to potty train a corgi and so he lets me know when he has to go out?
p.s. he sits on one leg and his other foot sicks out his side, is this normal for a puppy…
. We also took him on a 12 hour trip when he was about 12 weeks and he was fine on that too. Just make sure to stop at least once for a potty break on your 6 hour trip, 2 or 3 times would be better if he isn't crate trained. Don't feed him before you leave just in case he gets car sick.…
Hi Sammy & Bailey, make sure her crate is section off, with enough room to stand and turn around. Read and re-read the faq on potty trainning, she still have 6-9 months to go. Good luck!
