Please view this full-size. Perhaps 20% of as fine a view as I've ever seen.
This is really in the middle of Nowhere, and one of the loveliest places on Earth.
About 7300', descending from Camp 3, looking roughly south into the upper Suiattle River valley, Glacier Peak Wilderness. Clark Mt. at far laft, Kololo peaks at right. Glacier Peak is off to the right. Center skyline crags are Tenpeak Mt. Green pyramid at center is Flower Dome. On Day 2, we climbed Buck Mt., off-screen to the left, same size as the peak at extreme left (Clark Mt., 8500'). Camp 2 is just behind the dark pyramid (Helmet Butte) to Al's left. Glacier Peak, a 10,500' volcano, is off-screen to the right. A vast panorama is behind the camera.
Al is unimpressed; he just wants a 2nd breakfast.
We'd spent the night a few hundred feet higher than this at 7500', dead-calm and warm, on a tiny flat spot just big enough for me and the dog. Early Sept. 2011.
