It's November already. I'm posting this for those of us who'll need a midwinter summer fix to make it til next spring.
Between High Pass and Buck Creek Pass, Sept. 2010. We were incredibly lucky; the flowers are normally long past by this time. This is what they're like in mid-July in a normal year. It sounded like a beehive.
Al had been here before, one year earlier, with impending dark, threatening weather, zero visibility, and steep terrain ahead; might as well have been a different planet.

I can smell it!  Nothing beats the fragrance of a mountain meadow.  And there's Al -- as purdy as the flowers (sorry pup :) I guess I should say handsome.
