About Me:
I am a grandma, wife and mom. My empty nest was filled by 2 wonderful corgis. Both have passed over the Rainbow Bridge and another one, Izzy, joined us. We also have a grand-dog (doberman) who is now very much our dog. She is very sweet and gets along great with Izzy. I love to walk in the Lake Lansing North Park in the woods and travel with the dogs and my husband in our RV.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Izzy is a very mild mannered 5 year old corgi that loves to sleep on the couch and have anybody pet her.She may live with a 65 lb. dog but she really is the boss.We also have two cats that like to cuddle with which ever dog is sleeping. Life is never dull or hair free at my house.
I recently had to help my beautiful tri colored corgi, Sparty, over to the Rainbow Bridge after a bout with cancer. It was so difficult and a piece of my heart went with him but he lived a great adventure filled life of 13 years with us. Prior to that our other corgi, Buffy, died unexpectedly at only 6 years old. Sparty and Buffy are now reunited and probably very happy to see each other. I feel very lucky to have discovered corgis and this web site of great people.

Missing Corgis- hold yours close!

Posted on April 28, 2013 at 10:21am 20 Comments

This past week I have watched on facebook as Wendworth Corgis (one of our members) frantically searched for beautiful retired Champion Winston. He was recently retired to a new home and has been missing for almost a week. He is in the Broadview Heights area in northern Ohio. Has been sighted at the Briarwood Golf course. Any mycorgi members in that area keep an eye out for him. He is a beautiful red headed tri.

Just noticed this morning that the very famous Pudge the Poopster of Cori…

Pembroke in Michigan shelter

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 1:15pm 9 Comments

There is a cute tri-colored corgi in the Jackson Animal Shelter. He is on Petfinder. Anyone looking for a new family member? I hate seeing corgis in shelters!! Wish I could get him myself but just can't.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping you had a magic formula... something you read that gave a guide line as to what others have done.  I need to make some decisions.

We have put off a will for years now because my husband can't decide where he wants some of his personal items to go.  I have thought about just making my will separate whether than wait for him.  I want personal family items to go to my nieces, but I would like to donate all the money (minus some cash to pay for our dogs care) to our local humane society.  I think that is a problem for him as well.  Our family members don't need the money and we have no human kids, so I think that the money will serve the shelter better.

Thanks.   Lisa

I read what you said in the discussion who looks after our animals when we are gone?

How much money do you think is reasonable to leave in the will for the care of each pet?

Did you work out an amount or just pick it off the top of your head?  I have been thinking about this for a while and I want to put an amount in a will that would be fair.  Should the amount be based on the age of the dogs at the time of my death?  I just don't know where to start.

I noticed another woman said that her niece would reimburse the cost of medical treatments to the person that took her dogs, but I don't want my family to have to deal with this responsiblity for the number of years that this could go on.  I would rather a lump sum go to the person who keeps my dogs.  I just have no idea what would be a reasonable sum of money.

Thanks for any assistance you can give me in this.

We have friends in Highlands Ranch and I used to  stay in H.R.  when I was looking for homes in Colorado. It's quite a big place now, was smaller then, almost 20 yrs ago, where does the time go ?!?

Thank you, Bev.  I am watching her close, but she is so active.  The hardest time is when I take her outside, she wants to run and play so bad.  I am keeping her on a short leash, and when I take her outside to relieve herself I bring her back in as soon as I think she has finished.  She is not happy about it!  lol  Be glad when this healing is done.....

Why thanks, Bev.  We celebrated a weekend early with 2 perfect days largely above timberline, just me and Gwynnie.  She's pushing 9 1/2, and still spry.

Al says I don't look a day over 60... but that I should consider getting an RV.
