"I can't get all my comments to show up so have to do this separately. Breeders can usually tell at an early age which pups will become red headed tris and which wont. My 9 month old pup was black headed as a baby but is now fading. The breeder…"

Bev Levy replied to Mary Margaret's discussion Picking Our Puppy; How To Know What the Colors/Personalities Will Be
"This is my red headed tri. I agree the important thing is to ask the breeder about personalities.   You may want a more laid back pup since you don't have a lot of experience with corgis. Check out utube videos for Zak George and…"

"Check out some of the training videos on utube.  I like Zak George and kikopup. Corgis were selectively bred to be bossy so this is a pretty natural behaviour for them. The idea in your training is to teach him that human means good things not…"

"I agree with Jane, I have even had a puppy drag a leash or bit of rope to end the chasing. Unfortunately chasing the cat is a very rewarding activity. There are utube videos on teaching leave it. I taught mine by dropping a treat on the ground (not…"

Liver disease in corgis

After seeing several posts on liver problems in corgis , I wanted to mention Copper Liver Disease . We learned more about this disease than we ever wanted to know last spring when my Izzy suddenly was diagnosed. Many breeds are effected by this primarily Bedlington terriers but also corgis. It can be treated if diagnosed early enough. Unfortunately in our case we were too late. If you are seeing elevated liver enzymes,  mention this disease to your vet.Best of luck to those of you going through…See More

About Me:
I am a grandma, wife and mom. My empty nest was filled by 2 wonderful corgis. Both have passed over the Rainbow Bridge and so has my sweet doberman, Misty. We lost our sweet corgi Izzy suddenly due to liver failure April of 2016.Our Cardigan, Watson is two and a total social butterfly and licking goofball. Supposedly Cardis are more serious than pems but not our Watson. We were very fortunate to be able to add a beautiful Wentworth Pembroke the end of April. Lexi is a tri colored corgi and just as cute as can be. Watson is in seventh heaven playing constantly with Lexi. Corgis are so fun and adaptable! We were able to attend the Florida Corgi picnic last November. It was awesome seeing about 250 corgis fraping around. Our cats, Cheech and Chong add to the hair and fun at our house. I love to walk in the Lake Lansing North Park in the woods and travel with the dogs and my husband in our RV.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Lexi is a tri colored Pembroke. She is still a baby but quite amazing as a smarty pants.
Watson is two year old Cardigan that alternates between being a little cuddlier to being absolutely wild. We also have two cats that like to cuddle. Life is never dull or hair free at my house.
I had to help my beautiful tri colored corgi, Sparty, over to the Rainbow Bridge after a bout with cancer and my sweet doberman, Misty. We lost Buffy many years ago and recently our sweet Izzy due to liver failure. It was so difficult and a piece of my heart went with them but I feel very lucky to have discovered corgis and this web site of great people.
I have:
Both Pembroke and Cardigan

Lexi is fitting in well

Posted on April 25, 2016 at 2:25pm 8 Comments

Watson is so very happy to have a playmate! Lexi is from Wendtworth corgis in Ohio and I have always loved her corgis. It was pure luck that she had a puppy for me right now. I know some people wait a long time after losing their dog but I find getting a puppy is the very best way to…

Watson's two years old

Posted on January 19, 2016 at 8:58pm 9 Comments

Watson turned two on Sunday. He is still very much a puppy. Every day is a party to him, he is just looking to have a good time. Training is going slowly because he gets distracted easily but he is very funny. So loving my goofy boy and looking forward to our year…

God bless you and keep you.

Succumbing to cancer IS NOT an option! Surviving cancer is. Keep your spirits and faith alive and well. You will be healed.

Life around here has been a whirlwind of post earthquake cleanup so I haven't been on here for awhile.Of course I headed to Your page to see how Watson is doing.Stunned to see Your life altering news.I can attest that it's weird to feel ok and still have something be wrong.I found Myself having a cervical procedure done, call from My Dr. And a complete Hysterectomy the next week.
I'm sure You and Your Hubby will get much love and much needed cuddle time with Watson around :).
I've never asked about Your beliefs,We have Our corgis as Our connection, but prayers are a real part of My life.I'll get ahold of Our prayer circle to get started :)!May this time ahead be one of peace, family and healing.Judy

Your Welcome!  We are headed up to the  Upper Peninsula of Michigan in a a couple weeks, hoping the weather isn't too chilly for the kids, so they can enjoy the lake, especially since they will only get one week up there this year vs 3 weeks!  It is definately wierd with only one, especially all the ways your used to the other one being around, for example..if water was boiling on the stove, lance would alert me, which was good especially if I had walked away for a minute. ( i know i know your not supposed to!!)  Tucker could care less if water is boiling or the timer is going off on the stove.  Will be different without Lance in Michigan, our first trip there without him in 7 years!!
