That is pretty much how my two are. Henry my pem is very social, loves everyone, very active and alert. Luke is more reserved with strangers, more of a one family type dog. He is usually very calm at home. I think Henry is smarter but he has the typical "what's in it for me" attitude, where as Luke enjoys working so he is actually easier to train.

Jane do you notice a difference it the two breeds? Ive read some where that the pem is smarter more active and the cardi is shyer and less active? Is that so of your pair?
