Otter Point, 6350', a summit bivouac in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, central Washington Cascades.
Morning, Day 3, 7/4/11, a bizarre year with about 500 times more snow than normal for July. And me without my skis. This is the only snow-free ground we set paws on the entire previous day. Glorious sunset, starry night, canine electric blanket inside the sleeping bag, and a silent sunny summit dawn. Those peaks are called Chimney Rock and Overcoat.
