Thank you, Kari. Gromit's a happy guy too. The photos often make him look so serious but he's hardly got a serious bone in his body. He's pretty much just a big happy, hairy guy.

Nancy, thank you for your compliment. After starting to shoot digital in the 1990's I left film entirely about ten years ago and never looked back. A quality digital camera can do anything a 35mm camera can do and more. The biggest advantage with digital is the ability to experiment and try things that you might not otherwise try with film because of the costs involved. My photography began to improve quite a lot once I began shooting digital. Your old skills involving f-stops, shutter speeds, depth of field, ISO, etc. all are the same in digital but digital provides a wider range of adjustment to those in camera than film does. If you like to shoot, even the entry level DSLRs and the higher end point n shoots from the major companies all do an excellent job.

Doug. This is a very lovely portrait. I have not yet gone from my old SLR to a digital camera. Your demonstrated end results is very, very convincing to try and make the change to digital. Tasha wants Gromit to know that she finds him quite the dude. Nan
