Well, just work on sit/stay, and eventually they'll recognize "Sit.  Stay.  Look Pretty." as a standard command.

But it's hard to get them to look at them camera without brandishing a treat, so you need to operate the camera one-handed, or get an assistant to hold the treat.

I just spent a day taking photos in the snow, and if I open the exposure about 1 f-stop, they come out brighter.  The bright snow fools the camera into letting in too little light.

Gwynnie wants a tail now, too.

Our dogs don't really understand the whole "hold still for photos" things, which is why they're usually being held in all our our pictures!
