Dante

Isn't he gawjus? This is Dante (d'Artagnan), Gwynnie's sire, Al's grandsire, and sire of the litter we just visited at Carrie Hale's (Haley's pwc). He's a big, strong, striking blackheaded tri, 10 y.o. July 2011; I've not seen anyone quite like him; a real beauty and quite a successful show dog. He has these black-and-white stripes that make him look like one of those Kiss glitter-rock stars. She had 7 adults on hand, all adorable, in addition to the puppies. Quite an experience.
The litter's dam, Twyla, may be a descendant of Dante, so the puppies are all Gwynnie's half-siblings, or closer. I rediscovered that one cannot photograph puppies unless they're asleep.
I survived the experience without chemical sedation.

Comment by Gromit, Sparkle, and Doug on July 12, 2011 at 1:01am: Dante reminds me of a kin of Gromit's, Ch. Coalbyn-Mylkwood Black Hawk who was also a black headed tri like Dante. But Dante's "spear point" blaze and more prominent white eyebrows makes him even more striking. I love the black & red trim around his ears, too!
