I'll probably be looking for a younger one in a few months to keep her company.
I am so glad that she has a new loving home and is adapting. There are so many homeless dogs. I bought my corgi but then adopted a rescue to keep him company.
I had to sit on the lawn and pet other dogs for 20 minutes before she came to sniff my fingers the first time I met her. She was being boarded at a small dog boarding home and she had adapted to that pretty well. She has really adapted well and Port Townsend has almost as many dogs as people and the dogs (and most of the people) are very social. Dogs are a normal occurrence here, I brought Little Sister to her first city meeting last Thursday. Dogs don't chase bicycles here.
That sounds really good for a nine year old. It must be really surprising to her to have the other dogs already there and knowing the routine.
I only adopted her about two weeks ago and she is getting used to all the other dogs and people that come to visit. I had to command her to stay while I stepped back a bit. She wasn't taught any commands so she is trying hard to understand and be a good girl. Not bad for nine years old.
She looks so serious.
