Mt. Maude summit. 9082'. 13th highest peak in Washington. You sleep on a place like this only in very settled weather... so the lightning in far-off eastern Washington disturbed my sleep. Perfectly clear all night, but we awoke in zero visibility -- typical Cascade summit view -- robbed of the hoped-for sunny dawn. In the Cascades, you get used to this.

John -- I'll be showing this one to my dad. He is a retired veterinarian, an avid outdoorsman, a lover of corgis and humor.
