Noonish, Day 1 of a 3-day trip. We'll spend the night on that ridge right between her ears. The distant peaks are called Dome and Sinister. Washington Cascades. Spider Gap, Sept. 2009.
Allegedly, a miner had a claim right at this spot, worked it for many years with his family living in a primitive cabin nearby. The story goes, he got pinned in a cave-in in the tunnel, and his son made him promise to give it up and quit before digging him out. Nice place to visit; wouldn't want to live there.

Beautiful! Would love to go there! What kind of things do you pack for Al? I want to do it now! But I want to be prepared. I probably won't take our 14 week old its probably too long of a jaunt but our 3 year old I'm sure would love it! Thanks for the info! Maybe we will see you up there!
