I wish that loving one's pet didn't come with the guarantee of eventual heartbreak.  But, it is always, always worth it. How lucky you were to share your life with such a sweetheart. :)

Yes, our boy was a handsome hound.  His beauty was exceeded only by the sweetness of his personality.  He passed away nearly a year ago.  There are many days now I don't cry.
