It seems like it would be difficult to tell a red and white from a sable and white, at least early on.  They look alike don't they ?  In fact, they all look almost the same when they're little.  Even the tri puppies.   We really want a red and white, so I'm obsessed with learning how to tell the difference !   : )

yup! we were the second people for a deposit on a girl, so we had second pick!

if youre breeder is reputable (which it seems like she is!) she will know from the beginning if your puppy will be sable/white or red/white! and if she is keeping them for 10 weeks, im sure she will know for sure by then!

I'm sure every breeder is different, but in your experience if you put down a deposit before someone else did that allow you to pick before them ?  My concern is that when I first see all the puppies in a litter it will be hard to tell if a particular puppy will be a sable and white or a red and white so I might want to wait awhile before I choose one.
