Annie, Bear's bitten ear is part of a larger story involving a rescue corgi named Squizzy. Kate, my daughter, had Squizzy for more than two years. When she chose him from Richmond, he had been tied outside and a barking collar had done physical damage to his throat. He loved Kate, however, unfortunately had snapped and fought at a meet-up, with Kate and ultimately one evening ripped Bear's ear north to south. We drove to the Yorktown Emergency Animal clinic with Bear late on a Saturday night. He wore a cone for more than three weeks. Anyway, Squizzy dearly loved Kate and she was beside herself with behavioral training issues with Squizzy. The night before beginning her Master's degree at NCSU, she returned to her apartment to find him suffocated in a snack food bag after knocking over the trash bin. It was tragic and so sad. Now, Bear's crescent cut always reminds me of that furchild.

Why thank you! Linus (Heronsway Land of the Hokies) is the fluffy. The larger red headed tri is Bear. The slimmer is Tasha girly girl. I have not taken recent photographs since a bite was taken out of Bear's ear. He is the love of my life and the one who loves to roll in the middle of moving sheep. I get blown off a lot!!

Dear Annie: This is such a great photograph and I have enjoyed your other pictures, too! The worst that has happened to me is one day Tasha spent the afternoon carefully removing the bottom apron off the sofa, stitch by stitch. I was hardpressed to scold her because Tasha did a magnificent job and she was terribly proud of her work. If you all ever come down this way to Colonial Williamsburg, please let us know! Again, we happily accept your kind offer of friendship! All the best from Nancy, Bear, Tasha and sweet Linus
