I adopted Emmy 4 years ago. I went to a beagle rescue (since I had previously had a beagle and loved him until he passed away) but when we arrived they had received a litter of puppies the night before (they had them tagged as labs) and my daughter fell in love with the runt of the litter..Our precious Emmy... . we've been loving her since.

About My Corgi(s):
Emmy Lou is a rescue pet and adorable. She is a Corgi/Terrior mix and is 4 years old. We got her when she was on 8 weeks for my (then) 3 year old daughter who had just had surgery. Emmy is amazing with kids!!! She is so gentle with small children but playful ... and yes she loves to run after anything that moves. Emmy is very smart!! She can also get a bit ornery at times, especially if she doesn't think you are giving her enough attention. She hates to be alone.. that's for sure. .Luckily, she lives in a household with 4 children and 2 adults that work from home so it's not a problem. I love her breed mix and wish I knew what type of terrier she originates from. Its hard to see in the pictures, but she is mostly black, with some hidden red on her legs, with a white chest & belly, one white paw with the other paws having white tips on each. Emmy is very small (18lbs) but solid muscle with the barrel chest. She will lay in your lap and cuddle for hours. She also loves to play with her toys frequently.. her favorite is squeaky toys and fetch. If she is really trying to get your attention, she will chase her tail.
I need to learn to train her better with regard to "stay".... she runs out the front door all the time to chase things (school buses, UPS trucks, dogs) and since she is faster then a bullet you can't catch her at all until she is ready to come home.
Welcome Emmy Lou! She sounds like a great dog, and training is a common issue. We have plenty of discussions, so you could search the archives, or start a fresh one. You will get plenty of great advice!
