About My Corgi(s):: Bella is in a class all by herself. She's two years old and is the weirdest dog I've ever owned. It took months to convince my husband to buy a puppy after getting sick and tired of being home alone when he was coaching football. He wanted the quiet one that slept the entire time we were at the breeders, I choose the one that was jumping up at the fence and barking... She may have been the smallest of the litter, but she was definitely the alpha puppy. I wanted the dog, but somehow, she's ended up his soulmate. They're inseparable. While Bella and I seemed to have developed a love/hate relationship, we really couldn't imagine our life without her!

Bella's on the mend!!!!!

After spending a very unhappy day at the vet's office, Bella is now home and on the mend! They think she has a nasty infection in her colon which caused her fever and mudd butt. While she's still not nearly as energetic as usual, she's at least wanting to chew on her rawhide and is trying to play a little. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We've never had a problem quite like this one (or a dog like Bella for that matter!) and we're so happy it's not going to be a nightmare… Continue

Our Bella's Sick.

In the two years we've had our little Corgi, we've learned all about her sensitive tummy and the 'Mudd Butt' that generally comes with it. We've handled it with easy, taking her to the vet when she needs it, stuffing her with rice and broth, forcing Pepto Bismal down her throat, knowing how little I like doing that to myself. But now it seems something has hit her that we can't solve with 5ml of pepto.

Our latest rescue, of a year, needs to socialize, and I am hoping to find local corgis who want to play...except that Sonny does not know how to play! He eats (of course, he's a corgi!) and sleeps, and loves to be petted - that's about it. I throw a toy and he runs! Whoever heard of a corgi running away from a ball.
