"We also get shushed by this craaaaaazy lady in the dog park because Elli herds and barks while she does it. Unfortunately Elli has accepted her as her "people" (this woman was good friends with our first dog walker) so she always runs up…"
"When Elli was a pup, some trashy tourist pointed at Elli and said "Well that's a fat little dog." My husband glared at her and said "She's not fat and you don't know what you're talking about." She was super…"
"Elli sleeps in her crate. Has ever since she was 11 weeks. If we know we are going to be gone for a bit, we give her a super long walk and run around time so she is pretty pooped before she goes it. A cookie or two and her favorite toy, and she is…"
"The ex-pen will save you. We toss Elli in it when we are running out so she can play or sleep or do whatever. We made the decision that she will not be able to have free reign of the apartment while we are out so the ex-pen was the perfect solution.…"
I had to reply to your post. My husband and I own, Elli, an 18 month red-headed tri. We also live in Manhattan. Our space sounds similar to yours-a 2 bed with about 1200 square feet. I work in advertising and my husband works in finance-so…"
"He sounds a lot like Elli. She would play and then just have a little lie down. And she was not super into food either. Which turned out to be fine since she will wait for us to give her the okay before she eats anything and leaves dropped food…"
We were there last thanksgiving. Somewhere around 10th Ave and 19th, near the Chelsea Market and the Standard Hotel? Or am I completely confused. Can't believe I lived 25 yrs in NY and now it's all so different.
My niece bought a condo near, or in the meatpacking district, & around the block from a project. I think she lives between 10th & 11th on 18th St. Her sister lives on Greenwich St bet. Charles and Perry. Are you near them? It's a fabulous area. My husband & I lived on West End and 74th and it's so crazy that 30 yrs later my dgt is in school and living on west end and 84th. Way downtown is the place to live now, but my dgt goes to school way uptown, almost in the bronx. Have you always lived in NYC? Did you go to public school in NY and always live way downtown? I remember taking my Corgi to a grassy area off the west side hwy. my husband, maybe not yet at that time, and I had the biggest fights bec. he'd let Gorki off leash, and Gorki was a monster with other dogs. Oh the memories that this site set off in my brain. All good! All Corgi!
