I'm a new grad from UC Davis, and I recently brought home a new corgi to our family. Outside of work, all of my time and efforts are devoted to taking care of this little sucker, but I love every moment of it.
That's tough cause my puppies are 6 and 10 months and they still chew everything! lol puppy trianing has helped with the first one..the younger one, well she stops chewing when i yell at her but only then...she doesn't realize she's not supposed to be chewing...
what drew me to the corgi was when we went to an agility event to watch my Dad's border collies compete. We got there early and were watching the shorter dogs, and we saw a corgi for the first time, jumping with those tiny legs over the hurdles. IT was love at first sight!
Your grandma sounds very funny. I thought Yumi might be a Japanese name, bec. I have friends named Yuki and Yuka, though clearly Liang is not a Japanese name! Guess it was just meant to be that you got a Corgi. My guess is that you will love Yumi so, and the quirkiness of a Corgi that you'll be like me and never own another breed. My first dog was a mixed breed rescue from the streets of Brooklyn. I was kind of drawn to mixed breeds. Then my neighbor got a Corgi and it was love at first sight. Hermitage was its name and it looked more like a mixed breed than my own! So I've owned Corgis since 1969! All my corgis were red & whites and I finally got my tri. Enjoy. Keep in touch.

Yumi may look like a corn cob with feet, but Rafa, my tri, looks like a tootsie roll. Both are sweet enough to eat, so it's a compliment, right?!
PS I can't wait to be a grandma. They can say any random thing they want and no one can get offended because they're a grandma!
