About Me:
I am getting on in years and I love dogs. I love all dogs large and small. Unfortunately where I live I can't have a dog and I do miss having a pet. I have a gold fish but hardly any consolation for a dog.

Quite a while ago I had a Chow Chow/Collie cross who was a marvelous dog. A little while after she died, I wanted another dog. I got a book on dog breeds. From this I chose the Corgi. We went to a breeder in Forster and I think it was harder getting the Corgi than adopting a child. I got a beautiful little Pembroke puppy and called him Rusty.

Because I miss my Rusty and not having any dog, I started up a website called corgidogworld.com and also an eBay store Personalised Dog Gifts. I have a great time seeing all the pictures that I put on my items.

About My Corgi(s):
I got my Rusty in about 1992. He was the best dog ever. You could do anything with Rusty. Fantastic with kids. My mother was in a retirement home and I would take him to see her. All the old people just adored Rusty. I think Corgis are the most versatile dog, gentle, loving, faithful, playful and intelligent. I am biased.

Where are all the Corgis?

Posted on May 8, 2009 at 7:56am 10 Comments

I live in Australia. It is extremely rare that I see a Corgi these days. Is it because they are 'out of fashion'? Years ago, the Afghan Hound was the 'in' dog to have. These days you very rarely see an Afghan Hound. I think it is a shame when a dog breed is used as a fashion statement. I think the Corgi is best know as the Queen's dogs. By what I have seen there appears to be more Corgis in the USA than here in Australia. Any idea why they would be so rare these days?

Hi Rebecca, I sure do have pictures of Rusty. If you go to my page under 'photos' you will see him. He was a lovely Pembroke who I got from a very fussy breeder when he was a pup. I think he chose me, not the other way round. I just love your family. Best wishes, Kay
