"No on cutting hair.  Try buying a Furminator or similar style brush and use that in concert with your regular brush.  We brush Camber outside to mitigate some loose hair.  Corgi's shed and that ain't gonna change."

"You brush and you vacuum and you resign yourself that having corgi = excessive shedding lol. Do NOT shave (please read this FAQ page about shaving)"

"Even if you did trim them, you would still have the shedding.  It would just be shorter hairs."

"Don't shave, they are probably just blowing their coats so brush daily for a week and they will probably be back to shedding normally soon. A bath loosens up the dead hair too but brush well after they dry. Welcome to Corgi-World!"

"I agree with the others.  Do not shave your corgis!  Their undercoat (which is what is shedding) protects them from the sun.  It is very important to keep it!  While Ellie doesn't shed nearly as badly as Yuki, she does shed…"

Welcome Veronica, I started this group with grand hope of weekend beach adventures with other corgis. Sadly Lucy hates meetups. Ricky-Rafa enjoys them, but it's no fun for me to have to leave Lucy alone on a meet-up weekend. There are many active Huntington Beach meet-ups. I think one of the active owners from the Huntington Beach group should take over this group, because thanks to Lucy, I'm a dud!

Welcome to mycorgi group and the OC corgis. Snickmom is a good source for info on the huntington beach group. Best of luck. Send me photos when you connect with them. Rafa and I will watch when Lucy's not looking.
