Just had Nigel neutered yesterday. We had a rough night. He had trouble sleeping with the neck cone and whined all night. My doctor said to continue using the cone collar for 5 days so he doesn't lick or bite the wound area. If I take off the collar, he immediately starts licking the wound. I just feel so badly that Nigel has to wear that cone. He hates it! Anyone have any pointers? Can I spray anything on the area to get him to stop licking? My Corgi is 6 months old and always coughs after he drinks water. He's also started reverse sneezing. At least that's what I think it is. Sounds like he's clearing his throat. The vet checked out his lungs & throat. All is well, but my vet doesn't really know about Corgis in particular.
