Mabye adding another Corgi sooner than I thought.

Before getting on with the explanation, Cheez-it has gone 3 days now with NO accidents!!

I have a horrible Craigslist addiction, I routinely hunt for furniture, cars, and always glance at the pets section. have no idea why, mabye the allure of getting something for nothing, but more often than not you get something for something. I am fairly good at appraising cars, I like to purchase specific Mitsubishis that I know alot about and repair and resell them. It helps pass the time I suppose and is only a hobby.

I was shocked to see a 3 year old tri-pembroke on the pets listing last night. It had just been posted 30 seconds ago and I didnt even think about it, I just sent them an email. Well I recieved a reply this morning saying theres nothign wrong with him, he is just dirty and needs to get updated on his shots. I know I probably shouldnt even consider this having the little Cheez-machine at home, but I am going to call her and see about going over and visiting him. I would prefer a Male/Female combo, but the little guy didnt sound too hot and I can already see some scammer picking him up and selling him to another idiot. So I guess I am going to go do that. I think Cheez-it will understand.

That's probably a blessing in disguise. Even if she were legit, you never know with craigslist if you are walking into someone elses major health, temperament, or behavior problems. At least an animal shelter or rescue group has tested the dog for temperament, given any needed vet care, and started to work on training. Have you considered being a foster home with a local shelter, while Cheez-it grows up?

Well, I suppose since I said I would not pay a "re-homing fee" sight unseen and she would never give me the name of the pup on records so I could see that he does in fact exist that I was walking into a scam. I had my doubts anyway. A little advice,
If you see a dog on Craigslist that needs a home (for a tiny fee), dont get your hopes up until you physically see the dog in person. At least I still have my money. I think the idea was to collect the low amount (100$ supposedly to cover food for her other animals) and then disapear.

She never returned my phone call and email. I suggested meeting at a common place (such as a chain-petstore) as to be on neutral ground, and asked a little bit info on the pooch, and have had no response except for a one line email "I will get you pictures". So Im starting to think it's just some sort of scam, especially with the sob-story. Besides how could anyone give up a Corgi?
I'll keep you all informed.

She said she has alot of pets and that sometimes the heart is bigger than the wallet, which is something I can understand. I left her a phone message today, and hopefully will speak to her tomarrow. I myself would like to know what the deal is. I figure she is either trying to sell him for money (common on craigslist, example: JRT all shots, were expecting a baby, 800 rehoming fee). The "rehoming" fee is a big joke/scam IMO as dog-sales are not allowed on craigslist, it is the equal to a car dealer advertising 30,000 on a 35,000 car and charging a 5,000 dealer fee. Who knows, if she genuinely cannot house the pup I will most certainly take him in. I tried to rescue a Corgi for several months before adopting Cheez-it, but I could not find any. We will see. In other news : Cheez-it graced his 4-day mark with no in-house accidents!! He started "frapping" all over the place lately in, you guessed it, figure eights. What is the allure in that? I might try it when I have some steam to burn off.

Yeah, keep us all posted! Poor little guy, I would be in the same boat and tempted just like you! But make sure it's the right thing! But, knowing how well you're doing with Cheez-it, I'm sure you'll make the right decision!! Let us know!

James, I would do the same thing. Just make sure it's the right thing for everyone involved... especially you! It makes me really sad that a corgi should be in such a condition. I really wish that more people would treat their animals with love, respect, and compassion! After all, most of them deserve it more than we do. Best of luck, keep us posted.

Craigslist does have some crazy deals. I wonder why the owner wants to get rid of him. What kind of mitsubishi? 3000gt? Eclipse?
