Well, time for an update. I moved last Saturday for my internship this summer. The trip was 160 miles one way and of course, on my way down, the fuel pump went out on my truck, and they found a bad wheel bearing = $1800.00 - There goes a good chunk of change.

So I'm all settled in now. The new apartment isn't bad, it'll work for 3 months. The job is pretty good, and the people are lots of fun! As for the important part - Riley is doing great! I continue to be amazed with him. He's got bell training down! There have been times where he has rang the bell 3 times in a row. The first time he pooped, but no pee. Then the 2nd time he peed, and when the bell rang the 3rd time I was pretty skeptical, but that little bugger pooped again! He learned very fast that he gets a treat if he goes outside and does his business. Sometimes I almost wonder if he doesn't just do his business one thing at a time in order to maximize his treat intake!

At 13 1/2 weeks he sleeps through the entire night, without an objection about going in his crate. He handles 9-10 hours at a time in his crate without accidents when I can't make it home from work to let him out. And, he already knows sit, down and roll over! We will start puppy classes at PetSmart on Monday, more for the socialization than the training. We went to a class last night just to watch, but we got to actually sit in on it so he could get some extra socialization. He is such a smart little guy! I was very proud of him - of all the puppies there he was by far the best behaved. He's naturally a pretty laid back little guy, so he makes me look good even if he isn't trying! :)

I took him to a softball game the other night and everyone LOVED him! He's a little bit of a momma's boy, though he is great about meeting new people. We're meeting up next Tuesday with a lady who lives about 30 minutes away who also has a corgi from the same breeder I bought Riley from in TX. This should be fun!

I'll update as I can, but I'm cheaping out and not paying for internet in my apartment and I have to rely on break times at work to check email, etc. Hope everyone's summer is starting out well!
