Well, yesterday was May 16, 2008. The day Kara Jayne joined our family of 5. (7 if you count the cats). The older 2 kids headed off to school, the toddler to daycare and Chris and I made the 2 1/2 hour drive to Adams, NY where we met Kara, her 2 sisters, brother, and parents. They were all so wonderful. Chris and I got into the dog run to meet the puppies. They all came to meet us. After a few minutes Chris pointed down to a little fluff of fur that had sat onhis foot and fallena sleep. He picked her up, she smiled and rested her head happily in the crook of his arm. We knew we had been chosen! She had a great ride home, sleeping most of the way. She occasionally showed us her adorable "yawn-talk" abilities and our hearts melted. We brought her home, she met the kids and they played so well, I'm not sure who tired who out more! Then when it was time for bed, we tucked her into one of her 2 crates, beside my side of the bed of course, and settled into bed. She whined for about 2 minutes, I put my hand down by her crate and talked to her. She fell asleep moments later. I woke Chris up about 3 hours later to ask him if we should take her potty, he thought we should wait and take her when she started moving around in the crate. (I'm a very light sleeper). Finally at 6 am, I was afraid something horrible had happenned because it was still quiet. I had him go get her to take her potty. She gave a big "yawn-talk", when out a peed like a big girl! She is doing great at potty training. She's been with us for 31 hours and only had one accident so far!! She is such a good girl!!
