Today was such a beautiful day but too hot to go inland, so we took the dogs to the ocean town of Carlsbad instead. Carlsbad has a great downtown area that is nice to stroll around in and visit all kinds of shops. We walked along the ocean for awhile. It was beautiful and we met lots of dogs, even a cute corgi named Ein.

After the ocean walk we cruised downtown. There is a shop called "Bit O'Britian" where we stopped to take Sid's picture with the Palace Guard. He looks so natural there, huh? He was not afraid of this store fixture at all.



Poor doggies were exhausted after their long walk and meeting their adoring fans. It was a nice walk for the summer (not too hot) that we will do again soon.

PS - this is Sidney talking. Today we went to see the Big Water again. It was nice and cool there and the air smelled like salt. Usually the two old dogs slow me down, but today I got so tired that Mom carried me part of the way. At least I'm small enough to carry...the two old guys are just too big! I'm glad the humans were carrying water bottles for us dogs because we got really thirsty. I saw humans on bikes and skateboards (grr!) and motorcycles but I don't bark at them so much anymore. Mom scolds me when I bark at people, She says I need to be polite.
