Hi! This is Sidney the Corgi. I had a really big day today! It was that big fundraiser for the San Diego Humane Society that I wrote about last month. All the humans in my house plus me and the old corgi mix, Bruce, went on a really long car ride. When we finally stopped the car the air smelled different, kind of salty. It was also cooler that it was at home. It felt great to stretch my muscles! We walked toward a park where there were more humans and dogs than I have ever seen in one place. And they were right by the BIGGEST puddle I have EVER seen! And the water was MOVING! I was curious and went up to smell water. That was not enough, so I had to taste it. What's a dog to do? Bleah! It tasted salty.
First was work time. We needed to walk just like we promised to help give a better life to all the dogs, cats and other animals who don't have a home to live in. After that was the fun! We went back to the water. I jumped right in, then I decided it was too big for me. I got scared! It's OK to say I got scared, since I am still a puppy. When I grow up I bet I won't be scared! But I did like sitting close to the water...not too close!...and watching the water move, and play in the sand. Sand is neat. It is cool and fun to dig in. It also gets into my fur and makes Mom shake her head when she sees all that sand there.
I saw lots of other corgis there. We were always happy to see each other. It was lots of fun and it was a beautiful day at the beach. The humans were getting hungry, so we walked back to the car and drove to a place where nice people bring you plates of yummy smelling food. The tables were outside, so it was OK that Bruce and I were there. My family says those are the best kind of places! We got lots of friendly smiles and head rubs there. Will I ever get tired of people telling me how handsome I am? I hope not!
Here are some pictures of our day:
This is me and Bruce walking for the homeless animals. Don't we look dog tired? Hahaha!
This is Bruce and me on the sand. See the big water near me? grrr!
My human thought I looked cute when I got a sand-covered nose!
Here Bruce and I are getting ready to ride home. We were tired but we had fun.
Bye bye for now!
