Well, at least not yet! Hi, it's me, Sidney the Corgi. I haven't written in awhile becasue I've been really busy with doggie school. Sometimes I have good days and Mom tells me how smart I am, and sometimes I'm a real brat! My teacher says I'm not ready for Canine Good Citizen class yet, darn it! That's OK, I'm still a young pup, so I can wait.
It was so beautiful here in Southern California this weekend, so the two old dogs and me got a trip to the park. It's a big wild place full of trees and grass and even something mom called the "creek". I'll get to THAT later. Grr.
I like the park. There are soooo many things to sniff! We came around a corner and saw a big white tent set up. Mom said it was something called a "wedding" and that we should not bother the people. But before we could make our escape, a lady in a fancy white dress saw me and the two old dogs and came over to see us! She wanted to pet us and said she wished her own dog could have been there. Hmpf, why not? Dogs can come to the park! She was very happy to meet us and she looked very pretty.
Good thing we met her BEFORE we got to the creek! As soon as we reached the water, old Chester jumped right in, all the way up to his belly. He has really long legs and so that's pretty deep. Even old Bruce went in, but he's part corgi so he has short legs. He only went in far enough to get his belly wet. Me? No way! As soon as my toes felt the water I backed up and sat down. I did NOT like that water! I think it's out to get me. Grrr. Mom finally convinced me to cross the creek, but I would only go where there were rocks I could walk on.
The rest of the walk (after the creek - grr - was behind us) was fun. We even stopped for some frozen yogurt on the way home. I love that stuff!
Here are some pictures of our day:
This is me on a branch of a big tree
See how happy I look BEFORE I saw the creek?
Me and Bruce at the creek. See how I'll only step on rocks? Brave Bruce got his feet wet!
Here's a closer picture of me at the creek. That's Mom's hand trying to encourage me.
And finally, resting in the shade at the end of the walk. I'm tired!
That's it for now. I guess I'd better do better at dog school or I'll never pass. See you later!
