Lily is being spayed today. My husband just took her to the vet. She stayed inside last night since she could not eat or drink. We gave her a bath last night and let me tell you, that was an experience! She was not happy at all, but she did not struggle too bad. The collar we have for her is causing some redness so I am looking for another collar today while she is at the vet. She slept wonderfully last night. She did not make a sound at all until my husband got up and she saw him. I think the cutest thing she has done, though, is her little 'talk' she had with me this morning. She stretched out on the floor and 'talked' to me. The funny thing is that I answered her back! My grandma's dog, Mei-Ling, used to do this and I always mimicked her back. Lily was amazed and tilted her head as I talked back to her. It was absolutely the cutest thing I have seen! Last night after her bath, as I combed her, she laid beside me on the chair and just relaxed with me. I want her inside so bad now! I wish that our landlord would allow her to be an indoor dog, but perhaps some days she can come in and just relax with me. She would be the perfect indoor dog, if we could get her trained to tinkle outside only LOL. The next house will be a indoor pet friendly house!
But anyway, if you could please say a prayer for Lily today in passing, I would appreciate it. Two of my daughters are out of town and this is the quietest time for her to be spayed, since the two rowdiest of my girls are with grandma for two weeks. Lily will be indoors for several days with us :) Thanks everyone!

Oh definitely! Lily will be inside for several days with us. I am letting the landlord know also :) Thanks for the prayers! She is going to become so spoiled she won't want to go back outside LOL

Prayers for Lily. It's great you'll be able to take her home tonight. But, if you can keep her indoors while she heals, it would be great. You wouldn't want her stitches to become infected.

I cannot believe I forgot to mention this! Today is the late night at the vet's office so Lily will be coming home tonight instead of staying overnight. They close at 8 p.m. tonight. They asked me if I wanted her to come home or stay and I said definitely come home! I am really pleased that they wanted to give me the option.
