Tomorrow will mark our first two weeks with our new rescue girl, Fern. She has really turned into a sweet little dog and fits in quite well. She is coming out of her shell. Fergie, our little girl that just turned one has decided that Fern is a terrific playmate and they wrestle on our walks. Water is Ferns weakness. She loves to FRAP through mud puddles. We have plenty of those since it seems to storm everyday. She comes home a muddy, but very happy mess after our walks. Which then means a quick dip in the wading pool to rinse the mud and gravel from her belly and paws....along with everyone else.I took her to the vet early this week--she was a little stressed by the ordeal. I think she thought she was moving on again. The vet and his techs thought she was a doll (of course) and started her on a new medicine to address her incontinence issues. He had never seen a dog as young as her with this problem. Hopefully the new meds with help some. Since we live 45 miles from Lincoln, where I work and out Vet's office is, Fern spent the rest of the day under my desk on my feet at the office. The highlight of the day was when we got home. This little girl was so happy to be home with all of her "friends". Her little nubbin was wiggling and she had to go up to each of the dogs for kisses. It was such a sweet sight! She really is home!

Dear Fern, Kristen and Lizzie. Hi! What a beautiful life, what a beautiful barn!!!! We think it must be fun out there in Nebraska. It is hot here in Virginia, but we find lots to do. Keep in touch with us cause all us corgis gotta hang together! Corgi hugs from Bear, Tasha and Linus (fluffybutt).

These are the stories that make rescue such a worthwhile effort. I am happy for you, for Fern and your entire family. What a lucky girl Fern was to find you.....and it looks like you were just as lucky.
