I signed Banzai up for puppy classes last week. He will be starting on Aug. 17th. My ultimate goal is the Canine Good Citizen coarse. That way if anyone wants to say that my puppy is a bad dog I can shove that certificate in their face.

I have all items needed for the class except my puppy, and treats. I even got a bag (that matches his collar I might add) to store them all in. Well not the puppy, he will be on lead beside me.

Today I went to Target (thanks for the tips guys) and got him pet steps for $20. They are like $25 or more anywhere else. I also got him a collapsible kennel.

I only have two worries with the kennel though. One being my cats thinking that it's a sturdy object and jumping on it with puppy inside. The other is the fact that it is not that sturdy, and given the right amount of force to either side it can tip over. I seriously do not want to wake up to a squished corgi, or to find him in a spot other then where I left him.

I already have an airline crate, I just wanted an alternative. The collapsible seems to allow more airflow and a bigger view from inside. I can use the airline crate for when he's a pup and move him into the collapsible when he gets bigger.

SamT- I know! I want to be able to bring him EVERYWHERE. That is truly my ultimate goal. He is going to be one very well behaved little boy when I get through with him.

After CGC, you get to buy a spiffy vest that allows you to take you dogs into walmart and other places that normally no dogs allowed :)

You may wish to reconsider the crate. While they are nice to take along when you visit they really are not sturdy enough to be a primary crate for most dogs. I think you would do much better with a wire or airline crate. The soft sided crates also provide little to no protection while traveling in a vehicle. Pups can chew up these crates very quickly. Best of luck with your new pup. Sounds like you are busy preparing and planning ahead.
