This is the fourth year that Timmy and I have marched with our nonprofit organization, "Bark for a Park", in the parade. This year was the first time that Timmy had another corgi to march with. The parade route and return is about 3.5 miles, so thank goodness, the weather was cool and not too hard on the pups paws. One group seperated us from "Humbullies", a local group working with abandoned and sheltered pit bulls and pit bull mixes.

The rodeo and parade are a tradition in Fortuna and is one of the longest running rodeos in California. The parade is attended by most people in town and some bystanders interviewed by local TV station, stated they've been coming for over 60 years. The kids love the dogs and always reach out to pet as we pass. Needless to say, all our dogs are well socialized and non reactive to most distractions.

The best part of the parade for the pups is the "treats" left on the street by the preceding horses. Several of the dogs had to be coaxed from eating way too many "road apples". LOL All in all, at the end of the parade, most of the dogs were pretty tired. Our lead car had water and a blanket for those who might not have been able to complete the walk......or just needed a drink. The only taker was an Old English Bulldog puppy, who couldn't finish. I've attached a few pics of us in the parade taken by one of our members in the "follow" truck.

Our group is in the green t-shirts and denim shirts, the "Bully" group is in baseball type t-shirts.
