First off just let me say that I love this dog. Lovelovelovelovelove.....
Secondly, OMFG* he takes it out of you! I feel tired constantly but I am happy at the same time. Strange...
Bringing him home was easy. Banzai slept through the later half of our trip. But he was thirsty and wanting something to chew on at first. He loves his PetStages teething stick, I think it is his favorite toy. Well next to the small Bobo toy.
Banzai is so well behaved, I was worried that we would be dealing with a hyper yapy pup- not at all! In fact he is currently passed out beside my computer chair. I love watching him sleep. He gets into the funniest positions. Banzai stretches out and howls in his sleep. It takes everything in me not to burst out laughing.
Day 2 1/2 and we are finally getting a routine down for the potty training. I broke down and decided to implement the crate as a part of the training. He puts up a bit of a fuss after he is in, but goes in with no problem, and eventually he quiets down, and I treat and praise him. We only use the collar and leash when he goes outside to potty. Eventually I think he'll get what we are asking of him. He even knows his name, and responds to it very well.
We took Banzai to the vet on Saturday, and other then I tiny bit of a cough he was fine. The cough has completely gone away and I think it was due to him munching on plants while he was out to potty. But the leaves and plants made him sick at one point and he did vomit. We have since kept a closer eye on him when we go out.
Banzai chews on random items but that's nothing that a quick correction, (i.e. showing him a toy he CAN chew on instead) and a spritz of bitter apple can't cure. He is awesome, I could not have asked for a better furkid.
