Trying Solid Gold Seameal Nutritional Supplement

Even though Mac is very healthy, I decided to try Solid Gold Seameal, a nutritional supplement that can be added to a dog's meals.

I posted about it on one of the Corgi Health forum here.

Details on why and my thoughts can be found on my other blog: thepracticalpooch.blogspot.com.

Also, I took Mac to a different dog park the other day. It was the first time we visited the Claremont Pooch Park. I'll write about our experience in the next blog post or so.

Well, I didn't see dramatic changes but that might be because I was already feeding Mac what I feel is the best commercial dog food available - Innova Evo. Sometimes I prepare him meat, vegetables and rice. The supplement seems expensive but it goes a long way for one Corgi.

I haven't been giving him supplements for some time now but if I thought he wasn't digesting his food well, I'd probably buy it. If you look at reviews online, you'll see a lot of people noticed that certain problems went away - like loss of fur, itching, etc. My best guess is that the food they were feeding their dog wasn't very agreeable with them. I think the supplement made digestion easier. But if they're already digesting and readily eating a high quality food, you might not notice a difference.

Ooh, that event sounds like fun. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything I have planned that day so I'll likely go.

My dog seems to be doing well as he is so I wonder if I'll even notice anything different. But I was willing to try it based on the reputation of the company, the reputation of Prozyme (which Seameal contains), the stellar reviews from dog owners, and some related articles.

Hi! We've been using Solid Gold products, including the Seameal supplement for a few years now. Our girls are all very healthy and happy. We switched to Solid Gold (Hund-N-Flocken, specifically), because the girls were gaining unnecessary weight on their previous food. With Hund-N-Flocken, we still feed them the same amount, but they all lost the extra pounds after a few months on the new food. We are very pleased.

We also feed the same food to any foster doggies we foster (we foster for Corgi rescue) and can see the dramatic changes in their health too.

So, we're sold! I hope you are similarly pleased!

P.S. I noticed you are a So. Cal. person too...check out my Event posting for 9/6 and join us for a day of Corgi fun, if you can!
