Poor Wally got bit by a pitbull yesterday. Good news is that he's fine. Bad news is that he has to wear this ridiculous collar for 2!! weeks.

Hope Wally is feeling better! On one of our first walks in our new neighborhood, Nessa was attacked by a free roaming pit bull. We found its owner who proceeded to cuss us out, saying it was our fault (even though our dogs were on leash, and his was not), It was scary. We did call the cops who called animal control, and it turned out they had dealt with this man and his two repeating offending pit bulls on several occasions, but they told us that our only option was to take him to court ourselves, and after the encounter we were pretty frightened, and we are pretty sure he knows where we live. We are afraid if we are the ones responsible for having his dog put down, that he will retaliate. We did file a report with the police though. Anyhow, Nessa was not badly hurt but she was TERRIFIED...and now we have to change our route which sucks considering it was the shortest way to the park. :(

We used the pro-collar when Sidney was neutered. He looked hysterical, like he got his head caught in a toddler's potty training seat, but it seemed to be MUCH more comfortable.

Wally's a trooper, he's hanging in there. Thanks again for the well wishes and the tip about the pro-collar, definitely gotta look into that =]

So sorry to hear about Wally! I don't know if you've heard of this, but it's called a pro-collar, and it looks like an inflatable donut. Almost like an inner tube for the dog's neck, anyway, it's what Kiwi wore when she was spayed. It's so much better than the e-collar, just b/c it saves your furniture and the backs of your legs. Not to mention, it was much more comfortable for her to wear. It's about $25, but well worth the money in my opinion. You can find it at petsmart, or petco. Hope this helps and hope Wally feels better soon!

I bet Wally is saying..."Yeah, but you oughta see the other guy!"

I'm sure he held his own well and I hope the 2 weeks goes by quickly.
Do you know the pit's owner? Hopefully they are covering Wally's bill!

I am so sorry! I can't tell you the number of times that dogs have run through their invisible fences to try and get Corey. It is frightening!
