I was reminded today of a corgi trait... the rear end. I was watching Le-Le walk away from me and amazed at the cuteness quality. Being a cardigan it is all about the tail. Her tail was sashaying back and forth. Just a happy dog out in the world. Her tail goes in circles when she get excited. Her tail tells a story of how happy she is, up high and swaying as she walks or when nervous it goes down and under so she looks like a Pembroke. When she takes her wild runs it curls up tighter to her body and reminds me of a boat rudder guiding her right and left.
I remember seeing our first Pembroke corgi with my mom. We were visiting a breeder to see another old female dog who was not quite right for our family. The breeder brought a younger 5 month old out for us to visit with. When she was walking away from us we saw his 'pantaloons' and were smitten by them. He came home with us and was a wonderful companion for 14 years.
Being a cardigan owner now I just love that tail though I have a lot of experience with Pembroke corgis with the cute butt that moves when wagging. Just had to share that story of the the backside walking away from us.....
