I am some what new to the whole cardigan show thing. I do not show dogs or do any agility or herding training though I would like to start with basic training with Le-Le. I went to a local dog show recently and heard about the National in Gettysburg which is at the end of April. I put it on my calender and can not wait to go see all the great dogs. Each day Le-Le does something so cute or funny that my husband and I have to just smile or comment about how wonderful she is. We feel lucky that she is in our family. We get so many comments when we travel about how wonderful corgis are. I have to always explain she is a cardigan and a bit different from a Pembroke. Le-Le has now make her official debut in Country Living Magazine. She is on page 117 and again on 118. We photographed our house for CL and I wrote about her experience back in March. Always fun to see a corgi in print!

We just did a photography shoot of our house this week. I realized recently we have not had visitors to the house since we have had Le-Le. We travel too much and when home just were not entertaining. Le-Le had her 3rd birthday yesterday. Tomorrow is her anniversary of being in our family. In 2008 we picked up a very scared, confused corgi, renamed her and now a year later she is ours completely. She loves my husband and gives him big kisses every morning. This from a dog who was so scared of him the 1st month. On the rare occasion that she barks we get so excited to hear her speak. Well today for the 1st time I caught Le-Le in the act of coming down the stairs. She has made us be her human elevator since day one. My husband thinks this is cute and says 'Don't teach her to go down, she might hurt herself. I'll pick her up and carry her down... just ask me". Le-Le has been part of our family for 7 months now and we are having a wonderful time. Each day brings her more out of her shell. She comes to life at dinner time, and right before bed. So funny that she wants to play with her toys then, runs between the bed and other rooms. She steals a sock, a dish towel, napkin out of the laundry basket and runs outside if the door is open, another room or under a sofa to have a quick chew. I was reminded today of a corgi trait... the rear end. I was watching Le-Le walk away from me and amazed at the cuteness quality. Being a cardigan it is all about the tail. Her tail was sashaying back and forth. Just a happy dog out in the world. Her tail goes in circles when she get excited. Her tail tells a story of how happy she is, up high and swaying as she walks or when nervous it goes down and under so she looks like a Pembroke. I just posted pictures of Le-Le is her fashion present from LA. My good friend sent us a raincoat that did not fit her Shih Tzu and she sent it on to us for Le-Le. Well we did a fashion show at my sister's last weekend. Le-Le is a really good sport. She has never had any clothes on before plus having to do this in front of her pals..... I just put up some new photo's of Le-Le. When we first got Le-Le we had her in her crate while we were driving since we thought this was good for her. Secure and safe. But we noticed that she was distant and we had to try to bond with her again when we stopped for the day. Le-Le is our 2 year old cardigan corgi who we got at the very end of Feb just after her second birthday.
