A long overdue update on Lily Bart~ a bit long

Wow, I just noticed that I had not blogged anything about Lily in a long time! She is quite busy. This summer was an adventure for her. We hired a lawn care company to come in and clean up the yard because we knew that the kennel would only be a temporary housing situation for Lily. After having things cut back, mowed within an inch of it's life, and a lot of cleanup, the yard is now Lily friendly. Before we would let her out occasionally but she would find things that we had no clue where they came from. When we rented the house, the owners had just bought the property and not gotten to the backyard cleanup. The little pond was full of iris and when I say a mess, trust me, it was absolutely awful. Hubby was in to his knees in muck just to get those out. Anyhow, it was not a place for the girls to even play unsupervised. Lily loves the pond now, but we cannot keep the water clean enough for fish so she uses it as her water bowl. There is a crawfish, courtesy of a friend, but I don't know if it has survived. Lily is keeping quiet on the issue LOL. Lily was very busy helping her daddy clean up some of the yard, when it was us doing some of the work ourselves. She supervised the cutting of trees and moving around of yard toys. She is quite the organizational Corgi. If she did not like where something was, she would let us know. Two of our girls were at their grandparents for the better part of the summer, so Lily had Olivia to herself. She thrived with her job of 'supervising' Olivia while we were outside. She would never wander from Olivia unless we told her it was okay, and if Olivia got too far from us, in ran Nanny Lily to get her back to her place. It was really funny to watch because she knew the areas of the yard that Olivia was allowed in. Another really funny thing that happened was Lily invented a game with her daddy. When it was time for her to go to bed in the kennel, we would take her dinner and put it in the kennel. Daddy would try to get her to come, but Lily is so much smarter than he gave her credit. She would get close and make him chase her. Once, she ran across this 'bridge' thing we had across the pond to support the turtle fountain. Well, the bridge fell and she barely made it over. Hubby jumped over the pond and shocked Lily. Needless to say, she got caught at that point. Oh to have had a video camera of that! The girls have learned though that Lily is queen of the backyard and toys are not safe in her kingdom. A bicycle seat has fallen victim to Lily teeth, as well as a Disney Princess ball. I really must get some updated pictures of Lily, she has gotten so big, but is only around 13-15 pounds. Her eating has gotten so much better, and she loves the Blue Buffalo food. Her coat and energy level is amazing. Thank you to all that helped me with the food issue. :)
I think that pretty much sums up the summer that Lily had.
