Well I went out to feed/play with Lily this morning. I am having some problems with my sciatic nerve so I am a little slow walking, bending, and moving in general. Yesterday when I was out with her, I was able to hide it because we had all gone out to play with her. Today, though, she noticed that I was hurting and did run a little, but when I started walking, she came and was right beside me. The whole time I was doing things, she never really left my side. She even came and let me pick her up when it was time to go back inside the kennel. I did not think that she would notice, but I am so glad that she did. She did me proud today. She is such a smart, attentive puppy! She has really enjoyed the yard now that it is all cleaned up and dog-proof. Only thing that is icky out there is the crab apples that are on the ground. Ugh! The fruit flies are everywhere but we try to keep them picked up. She does not mess with them, at least I have not noticed her messing with them. Anyhow, I just had to say how proud I was of Lily for being so protective and watchful of me today.

I have to say that Lily is special. She is my angel. She is very alert and perceptive. Tonight when we went out to feed/play with her, she was watchful of me but played around, never really getting too far away. If I moved, she would come right to where I was or at least check to make sure I was okay. I am just amazed at the bond that we do have. I love my Lily!

Awwww that is so adorable! I bet she made your very proud. They definitely know when somethings up or when someone needs help. Whenever we go hiking, it's me, my sis and our Nana (and of course the dogs) and my little Eowyn always makes sure we're all together and that our Nana is alright, especially when we go over a bit of rough terrain, she's right there beside Nana. She knows that our Nana is older and is always checking on her. They are very protective and devoted little dogs!

That's so great! I'm sorry you're hurting, but so happy that you have Lily there right by your side!

How sweet! I had a sprained ankle last year, and Banjo was just like that, following close and being patient. You and Lily must have a great bond.

Animals are incredibly receptive. My Basil always seemed to know when I needed him. Sounds like you and Lily were just made for each other!

My little kitten Kaia is like that. Even when I try to hide in the bathroom to cry she somehow manages to sneak in there on me. She cries at me and rolls around, showing off. All I can do is laugh at her and cuddle her close. They really do know when you need someone there.

Oh how sweet. I can only hope that Banzai cares for me that way.
