Sometimes I wonder if Griff is really a Cardigan.

He has the tail, for one, and the slightly larger body size and longer legs. And how about those front legs that bow around his body? But his ears point to the contrary, as they're even smaller than a normal Pembroke's and slightly pointy. And the tail is easily the result of a no-dock Humane Society policy.

But his pesonality puzzles me, too. Characteristic of all Pembrokes, he's amazingly friendly to people he knows. Though, god forbid, if he happens upon a stranger, he lets out this chilling howl-bark that he reserves only for moments of impressive guard dog duty! Is this a trait of other Pems, too, and I'm just not aware of it?

At least I firmly decided he's 100% Corgi, fluff and all! The Humane Society adopted him out as a Corgi/Sheltie mix, then crossed it off his paperwork at the last second and penciled in Corgi/Aussie instead. He fluffy coat really threw them off! My little man is definitely Corgi...but the debate still secretly continues on which variation of the breed he is.

I'm still leaning toward Pem :)

He is a fluffy Pembroke.. Love his tail, my guy was born with a tail too. Griff looks like a pem to me, no Cardigan there.

He's a cutie! I looked at your photos and would say he definitely looks more like a fluffy Pem (with a tail). : - )

I'm with you, I think he looks more like a Pem with an undocked tail. Regardless of what breed, he's definitely gorgeous. I love the tail!
