My question is can dogs get stomach bugs?
Zelda, my German Shepherd, has been puking up her food for the past two days. She vomits everything up, followed by bile, followed by dry heaving. Yesterday she had surprise diarrhea on the balcony. I noticed her stool was slightly softer than usual when I cleaned it up at dog park on Tuesday evening as well.
It hasn't affected her energy and she's acting
completely normal other than the puking and pooping. Could she just…

I have been seriously thinking about Griff's heritage lately! We adopted him from the Humane Society when he was 10 months old, so we don't have the exact story of his lineage. We were told that his Pembroke mother was rescued from a puppy mill while pregnant with Griff, but who the father was - who knows?
Part of me thinks that Griff's father was a Sheltie. Sometimes his face shape doesn't look truly 'Corgi', and his ears aren't as large as the rest of the breed. I attributed the…

Recently my man and I bought a projector for our living room in lieu of a TV. It's fabulous for watching movies and TV that streams online, but it has created an absolute monster in Griff. He has always had an obsession with
laser pointers - he doesn't stop chasing it long after it has disappeared - but this is something new.
We control the projector through a laptop. The mouse we use is projected to maybe 4" in height on the wall (which serves as our screen), and it drives…

Griff has this gross, scabby-looking skin infection going on behind his ears that smells bad. I just noticed it last night, and he hasn't been scratching it or anything. He didn't seem to mind me poking around the area, either, he was more interested in smelling my fingers after I touched the infected skin! lol
I looked it up online and I
think it's a "hot spot" caused by warm, moist skin. We were outdoors all last weekend where it rained all day Saturday, and Griffy refused…

I often buy rope bones for my pups at Target because they're only $0.99. I recently noticed that my local store has revamped their dog supplies aisle, with bins of toys ranging from $1 (can't beat those rope bones) to $9.99-ish. I was super thrilled to see that the dog featured on the toy bin marketing is a beautiful tri-color Cardigan! Love it.

The other day I came across an owner with her tri color fluffy on the street. I was so excited to see another fluff in public that I blurted out, "I love your fluffy!!!" to which she replied, "You know what he is!", as I nodded enthusiastically.
She ended up enjoying lunch at the some outdoor patio as me, so I stopped to chat after I had eaten. Her fluff's name was Dozer, he was quite a big boy and absolutely charming!
But when I described Griff having an 'undocked' tail,…

My Griff is a Fluffy! I love him in all his fluffy glory. His ears have whispy, flyaway fur tendrils (so pretty)! Behind his ears crimps up when it gets wet, which a friend of mine once equated it with, "An 80's girl's hair!" And his lovely, undocked tail fur sweeps the ground like a broom.
HOWEVER...
All Fluffies need extra grooming, that's a given. I used to take Griff to the groomers roughly every 6 weeks, but once I started feeding him higher grade food, his coat…

I ordered Heartguard Plus online last week, and when it arrived I found I had instead paid for the generic brand "HeartZ". Has anyone heard anything about HeartZ or used it for their dogs? I believe it is a European product. I want some feedback before giving it to my pups!

Sometimes I wonder if Griff is really a Cardigan.
He has the tail, for one, and the slightly larger body size and longer legs. And how about those front legs that bow around his body? But his ears point to the contrary, as they're even smaller than a normal Pembroke's and slightly pointy. And the tail is easily the result of a no-dock Humane Society policy.
But his pesonality puzzles me, too. Characteristic of all Pembrokes, he's amazingly friendly to people he knows.…
