This is my first attempt at blogging! I joined the site today after lurking for several months. I spent a lot of time online learning about corgis, watching videos, and researching the breed. I found the cutest corgi online and purchased her from an out of state breeder. I kept the name the breeder chose for her but I changed the spelling from Moxi to Moxie! My father is originally from Maine and used to love a drink called Moxie and would sometimes even bring back a case. Just like the name implied it had a kick to it but was still sweet. I think that describes this girl to a "T". I have to say that having this puppy in my life is even better that I imagined. Like everything else in life it takes time, energy, and money to have add a corgi into my life. Unlike so many other things - she is worth it all and more.
Moxie turned 12 weeks old last sunday. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. It has been such a busy time and I have not taken all the pictures I would have liked. I just love this puppy stage and know it will be over all too soon. She has really grown a lot over the past four weeks. She was 6 pounds and has grown to 9 pounds already. I hope that is not too much for her age. I have been keeping food out for her and have been giving her treats for training. Well, I say training but the treats are sort of a bribe just to get her attention. With two cats in the house you have to have a trick or two up your sleeve! I want to be able to pull her attention and get her to come to me immediately when needed. Dried liver treats help lots!
