LG replied to Tracie & Emmy's discussion How often do your Corgi's get a bath?
"We think she might have food allergies, this might be part of it. She's currently on meds for Giardia and a bland diet :( Once we transition her back to the food she was on we'll be able to determine if the food is an issue. I'm…"

Jane replied to Tracie & Emmy's discussion How often do your Corgi's get a bath?
"If her skin is really dry I would cut back on the baths and see if that helps. I keep a towel by the back door to dry them off when they come in, and if that's not enough I have some hypoallergenic non-scented baby wipes I use to clean them up."

LG replied to Tracie & Emmy's discussion How often do your Corgi's get a bath?
"Hmm... We've been giving Winnie a bath once a week (we've had her for a month). She gets a little stinky and has been very itchy (skin is dry and flaky) so she's been licking herself a lot!! It's also been rainy and gross here so…"

Beth replied to Tracie & Emmy's discussion How often do your Corgi's get a bath?
"Some show people bathe at least once a week.   Make sure you use a very mild shampoo and dilute it heavily in water BEFORE you rub it in the coat.  Rinse much longer than you think you should need to rinse.  You might also try rinsing…"

Vivi N. replied to Tracie & Emmy's discussion How often do your Corgi's get a bath?
"Uh oh... I think I've given my Yoda too many baths. I bathed him twice a week and his skin didn't look dry out at all. I can't stand the stinky doggie smell especially after he ran around in the back yard. Is this okay? or should I…"

Profile Information

Rochester, NY
About Me:
My name is Tracie and I live in Greece, NY.. a suburb of Rochester. My dog and I are members of the Rochester Small Dog Playgroup, and I am also on the Monroe County dog park committee. My corgi (Emmy) and I do agility at a local facility, and plan to start learning flyball in the near future.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
About My Corgi(s):
Emmy is a "sweet clown". She loves to snuggle and is very attentive, which is her sweet side. Her other side is the goofy side. She loves to play, (FRAP), swim, run in the snow, and anything else she can come up with to make people laugh. She is extremely outgoing, and expects everyone to fall in love with her at first sight. She is also very smart and does well at obedience and agility - which we do just for fun.

Emmy's 1st day of Doggie Daycare = 1 tired Corgi!!

Posted on April 1, 2008 at 8:47pm 6 Comments

Today was Emmy's first full day at Doggie Daycare. Her "teachers" said she had a great time. There are two other corgi's there, and I am told that Emmy loves to herd the other dogs around all day. She is totally exhausted right now... I sort of feel bad but I know she had a blast... how pathetic is this sleepy picture... Poor baby. She'll sleep well tonight!… Continue

Emmy needs votes in a local cutest pet contest

Posted on March 14, 2008 at 8:15pm 1 Comment

Certainly no pressue at all, but Emmy is entered into a local loveable pet contest being conducted on, which is an animal lovers webpage for the Rochester, NY newspaper The Democrat and Chronicle, and we need some more votes to get into the top three! (We are currently in 9th place out of over 200 entries - not too shabby!)

Anyway, if you are willing, I would LOVE the support of my mycorgi friends! The link below will bring you right to her page. (You do need to register… Continue

Hi Tracie & Emmy,

I LOVED your pictures and videos :)

I was wondering if you keep in touch with Danielle_RN? I just found out that her corgi Kara is my Mia's sister from another litter :) but I noticed she hasn't visited the site since 2008... Would have loved to talk to her.

Boom Towne does have a small dog playgroup - I haven't been to it yet. It costs something like $10 per visit so over the long term it isn't cheap, although they do have an annual membership I need to check out! I am also going to check out the Rochester Small Dog Playgroup. That sounds like fun. Max and I would love to do a play date sometime!

Hi Tracie & Emmy. I saw that you live in Rochester so I thought I'd leave a note, hope you don't mind, from a complete stranger. :) Max and I (and my husband) live in Fairport. I was wondering - where do you go for agility and where does the Rochester Small Dog Playgroup meet? Max and I go to Boom Towne in Farmington for agility.
