The past month or so has been frantically busy with me trying to get my ex situated in a nursing home-no success yet. And kid stuff never ends.

We also now have two new black kitties. One is a female age 10, the other a male, age 3. Jake was less then thrilled at suddenly being the youngest in the house, so he let me know in no uncertain terms by digging holes in the yard. I have yet to actually catch him at it, in order to discipline him. The female kitty has made herself known to be the Matriarch in the house and bosses the younger guys around and this annoys Jake.

The male kitty is an odd duck. Not sure where he head is at most of the time, but he does not bother Jake....

Otherwise, Jake is a happy Corgi. He was quite thin when he first arrived but he has filled out now-more muscle then anything. I keep his food to a cup a day and he runs madly through the yard when he is not engaged in excavations. He adores playing with his balls. We are on the second of one type of ball, but there are a couple of others he loves. He grabs them and shakes his head growling with the bowl in his mouth. He loves to play soccer as well. Retrieving balls is not really what he does best although he now realizes in order to be able to chase the ball, he has to bring it back to me to throw again.

Overall, he is so good. He did chew up a couple of insignificant items when I was not watching him closely...but he gets bored easily. I rather think his excavations may be due to bordeom as well. He is doing well with minding us, and going to for a walk is perfect.

I have been baking him biscuits every weekend. We also found that he loves apple/yogurt Harmony Farm cookies. Those are his favorites! He went back into his thing of not coming when called in from the yard, but all I need to do is hold up one of those cookies and he rans like crazy to come in.
