I have been so busy lately that I haven't been on MyCorgi in a while! I am sorry for adding all these videos at once, but I finally had time to sit down and get it all done!
A couple of weeks ago I took my camera to the dog park with us and finally got video of Gonzo playing with the other dogs. We got lucky and there was one other purebred Pembroke there - the only one we have seen! They didn't seem very interested in each other but were chasing the other dogs around. Gonzo actually started playing with larger dogs that day; he usually doesn't do that.
Last weekend I signed us up for the San Marcos Mutt Strutt. It's a fundraiser for the animal shelter. There's a mile long walk, food, vendors, door prizes, dog trick demonstrations (I uploaded videos of those), and dog races. Gonzo won his first race, and was in his second when he barely lost. That's ok though; the dog that ended up winning the medium dog races was an Italian Greyhound. So not fair ;o) Poor Gonzo's legs were too short for him to get a good start, plus the woman was saying "READY?" at the start, and I have trained him to run with me when I say "Ready set go!" So when she said that, he went from looking at me at the other end of the race, to looking up at her! Oh well, haha. He got to meet a big tortoise, which he didn't like, and wouldn't go near the snake (I think it was a boa or a python or something large and yellow, it was kept in a tent).
I also have videos to upload of him chasing a red dot light (like what cats do) and rolling over. It only took me about 4 commands to teach him that one! I am so excited. I've never had a dog roll over on command before. One of the kids at the Mutt Strutt told me that I should teach Gonzo.
Does anyone have any other tricks I can teach him? I have tried shaking paws, but he seems to lose his balance for that one, lol.
On second thought, I think there was a forum post about tricks. I'll check it out :o)
