So figured it was time to give an update on Charlie-boy. It was a little bit ago that we adopted him and was deciding on keeping him or not.

Well needless to say he is one of the family now. Napping happily to my right.

His feralness is almost completely gone. The wild whites of his eyes are gone and he's finally showing his corgi side and a personality that was hiding under that wild OMGWHATSGOINGON form. He's so sweet and surprised me when one of our neighbors kids just ran up to us (knowing roxi and not thinking as a kid doesn't) while we were walking and flung his arms around Charlie giving him a big hug. I almost had a heart attack until charlie just sat right now and looked at me like "ok.. I'll tolerate.. you gunna fix this mom?". So I talked to the kid (as he was clinging to charlie like a teddy bear) about dog safety and even though roxis nice, charlie may have been not so nice and was a stranger dog.. etc. etc.

needless to say a few bbqs later with friends kids and Im confident that charlie is just a lover. For some reason kids just want to sit and hug him and he lets em lol. He's gotten the ear pulls and the pushes and everything else kids do.. so Im just lucky to have two great little kid loving dogs. and its been a great way to teach them to be nice to animals in the process :) (they both get lots of treats when we get home)

He's a lot more relaxed now and has fallen into the daily ritual. Hopping into his bed at night and playing the crying game with roxi in the morning. Roxi standing outside his crate going "LET HIM OUT! LET HIM OUT!" while hes in his crate going "LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT!" - though he's learned to be quiet at night inside his crate. I give lots of credit to Roxi who seemed to have taught him that its ok.. to relax and to just enjoy this life.

His ears are all healed up now. No more bug bitten, sunburned tips. The huge bump on his nose is gone and all the scrappy buggy bits/cuts almost his body are gone. His coat looks a lot healthier now that he's on a good diet and we may up their food intake just a little bit since they are playing so much.. they both look a lot skinnier. Which is fine but not so good for already skinny dogs lol.

Last night for the first time he started chasing after the other dogs. So far he's just watched and hung out around the people but I was so happy to see him sorta participate finally. It was like a huge leap in his personality to see him finally sorta kinda play outside the house lol.

His personality is goofy and silly and just lovable and Im happy we decided to keep him around to see if he would fit in. I don't think I could imagine going back to a one dog family now. Especially those moments when they're laying around and licking each other's faces :).

I'm working on Charlie's video that will be similar to Roxi's.

So yea all is good. He's healthy, happy and back to a regular corgi form.

So glad to hear Charlie is working out. Isn't it wonderful when you see them learn to relax and just enjoy themselves?
