Lots of Corgis turned out in their finest Trick or Treat costumes.

Gromit, Holly the Insane Wiener Dog, Debbie and I had a grand time at the AZ Cactus Corgi Rescue Calendar Picnic. Frank and I figured there were about 50 Corgis that attended during the course of the day. 50 Corgis, how cool is that?! I just wish I could remember the names of all the dogs and of course all of the people. So many wonderful, happy Corgis and some very special ones too. I hope Big Ozzie, Cooper, and the rest find their new homes soon.

Ozzie came to Rescue weighing over 60lbs and is down about 5lbs now. And he came to AZCCR with a Corgi pal who was heavier yet!

Cooper is a charming little fellow, very nice looking and sweet but was born blind or nearly blind. Cooper will need a special home with no other dogs as they tend to startle him. I sat near his x-pen and he was a perfect gentleman all day long and loved the attention that was lavished upon him. More info on Cooper and other available rescues here.

A shot of just about 1/3 of the Corgis. More photos here.

I can't say enough good things about Vicki Combs who runs AZCCR. She has boundless energy and is totally devoted to Corgis and doing everything possible to ensure every single one gets a good home.

A short video clip of the line up is on YouTube here.

It DOES look like a ton of fun! All of those Corgis!! I would go nuts! I loved the video clip too. I hope that those corgis find a home. Corgis should just have good homes - they shouldn't have to worry about getting one.
