Well, today marked Bailey's first experience with a groomer and he was just perfect.  My mother has a local mobile dog groomer who has been taking care of her 11 year old pekinese for many years now.  I decided to give him a try.  For a total of $40.00 Bailey was bathed, dried, thoroughly brushed, coat trimmed, nails trimmed, anal glads expressed, and ears cleaned.  

I love the concept about the groomer coming to me.  I've always used Petsmart and, although they are professional, I always felt that they were rather pricy.  Since I have no plans to "show" Bailey, I was toying with the idea of a thorough haircut, but the groomer did not recommend it.  He felt that trimmed and a good brushing was more than enough.  This impressed me because a complete haircut would have upped the price another $10.00.

Anyway,  Bailey is now all primped out....and pooped out.  Once we got home, he devoured his nylabone sweet potato dog bone and then promptly climbed the stairs to the bed and passed out in the middle of the bundled-up comforter.  I am thinking that a nap sounds pretty good as well.
